What is the NF network?

The NF network is a set of competent and impartial organisations that AFNOR Certification calls on to issue the NF mark. These organisations, through their scientific knowledge and technical expertise, ensure the technical value and credibility of the certifications that they are involved in. They allow AFNOR Certification to expand its field of action and therefore increase the degree of awareness of its marks.

The various organisations
AFNOR Certification relies on three types of organisation

Authorised organisations entrusted with performing all the certification operations leading to the issuing of NF marks,
Technical secretariats, to whom parts of the certification process are sub-contracted,
Testing and analysis laboratories and specialist inspection and auditing organisations for the evaluating and checking of products and services.

All these organisations meet the requirements in terms of competence, impartiality and reliability described in standard NF EN 45011 or NF EN ISO/CEI 17025 that define the obligations that product certifying organisations and laboratories must comply with.

AFNOR Certification, and the organisations that are members of the NF network, are accredited by the COFRAC for certification activities. The extent of these accreditations may be communicated on request addressed to the organisations.

AFNOR Certification ensures the consistency and provides the management of the NF network as a whole. It also relies on a network of specialist auditors to periodically check the quality of the products or services certified.
