The NF Environnement mark is a voluntary certification mark
issued by AFNOR Certification.
This mark, which was created in 1991, is the French
ecological certification.
It is awarded to products that have a reduced effect on the
environment while offering an equivalent performance.
To be issued the NF Environnement mark, the product must comply
with ecological and fitness for purpose criteria. These criteria
are the result of negotiations between representatives of manufacturers,
consumer, environmental protection and distributor associations
and public authorities.
The use of products bearing the NF Environnement mark, as of those
marked with the European Eco-label, contributes to ecologically
responsible consumer behaviour.
